Error during init/classify stage for new nodes

When I run a puppet init command I get the following response, Notice: Contacting https://puppetmaster.example.com:443/ to classify 10.100.115.101-b1aaf32c-f809-485c-5102-b8e40138412e Error: Too many HTTP redirections for puppetmaster.example:443 Error: Try 'puppet help node init' for usage I can't seem to find any documentation or previous questions about this, any help would be appreciated.
