pdk change default values in metadata.rb

Hi, We had a skeleton to create modules before, now we will use PDK instead. I want to modify the metadata.rb to our standards but this will not work. When i change the "DEFAULTS" in lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/pdk-1.7.0/lib/pdk/module/metadata.rb it will not set the values when i create a new module with PDK. I cant find any simular issue online. Normally the interview questions fill in the answers in the metadata.json but i want that the defaults change to our standards. Thanks in advance.
